SPRING 2019 EVENT: The Spring 2019 Fish ‘N Fest will be held on Florida’s Historic Coast in St. Augustine, Florida June 6 – 9th. Our off-the-water headquarters will be the new Guy Harvey Resort on St. Augustine Beach. And our on-the-water headquarters will be at Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor. This is where we will gather each morning for fishing, and they also offer transient slip spaces for those who bring their own boats. The best way to stay informed and updated is by subscribing to the Nuts & Bolts E-Newsletter, and following us on the Nuts & Bolts Facebook page. One thing to remember, we have a limited number of discounted accommodations, evening event seats and charter boat options. So if you’re thinking about attending…don’t take too long. Fish ‘N Fest events sell out quickly.
WHERE AND WHEN – ON AND OFF THE WATER: Our Off-The-Water HQ will be the Guy Harvey Resort on St. Augustine Beach. You may recall we stayed at Holiday Isle at the last St. Augustine event, and they were in the midst of construction. Well, it’s complete now, and what a wonderful transformation!
From the awesome beachfront views to totally new interior spaces, all with the Guy Harvey touch, this property offers everything we need for a weekend of Fishing, Food and Fun! We have a block of rooms as Nuts & Bolts Fish ‘N Fest, so call them now to book your accommodations before the block is gone. 855-509-9724
Thursday afternoon, Fish ‘N Fest attendees come by the resort to check-in, get their Goodie Bags and relax at the spacious pool deck or bar. Social hour begins at 6:00pm, and the Welcome Banquet kicks off at 7:00pm at the Resort Banquet Facility. A couple of very lucky people will walk away with Bushido Inshore Fishing Rods custom made by Coach’s Custom Rods. We’ll have plenty of other cool prizes too. And we’ll hear from St. Augustine’s finest charter guides who share their fishing tips and favorite fishing spots.
Friday & Saturday, are our fishing days. Of course you can come earlier or stay later to fish as well. But our charter fishing options are for Friday & Saturday only. We’ll gather each morning at 7:30am at Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor Marina to meet up with our Charter Boat Captains and head out for a fun day on the water. If you choose to bring your own boat, there is a boat ramp just across the highway from Camachee Cove, and Camachee Cove has a few transient slip spaces available. Call them for a slip reservation at 800-345-9269. You can store your boat trailer at the Guy Harvey Resort parking lot.
Friday night, you’re on your own to explore and enjoy the cuisine and amenities of St. Augustine. There’s so much to see and do, that you really should consider coming a few days early to take in all the attractions and eateries. For more info on all the local options visit the tourism website at FloridasHistoricCoast.com
Saturday night, is our Celebration Banquet to cap off the weekend. The event will be at the Northeast Florida Marlin Association facility adjacent to the marina. Come hungry because Barbeque By Bill will be preparing a wonderful low country boil and some other special delicacies. Social hour starts at 6:00pm and dinner festivities should kick off around 7:00pm. Someone will be taking home a Free Ride to the next Fish ‘N Fest this fall. And we’ll crown the Inshore and Offshore Kahunas, and Jr. Kahuna for the weekend.
REGISTRATION AND FEES: There’s no fee to participate in a Nuts & Bolts Fish ‘N Fest. Everyone is welcome to join in on the fishing fun each day. The only costs are for the nighttime banquets, and the cost for Charter Fishing, if you elect not to bring a boat.
Everyone is required to fill out a Registration Form so we know how many to expect, and how many will be fishing with Charter Captains. You will pay for your banquet admission and Charter fishing fees via our payment portal in advance. This way we can guarantee our caterers and our captains they will get paid.
ABOUT THE FISH ‘N FEST: The Fish ‘N Fest is not a tournament. Instead it is an opportunity for people who love to spend time on the water to discover a new destination, explore its amenities, enjoy a couple days on the water to make new friends…and catch a few fish along the way. The event began as a small group of individuals who wanted to experience the same kind of adventures they saw on the Nuts & Bolts of Fishing TV series.
The first event was held on Hilton Head Island, SC with a group of 30 people and the rest is history. Today, Fish ‘N Fest events attract over 100 people from all walks of life and from all over the country.
We deliberately limit the attendance to maintain an intimate atmosphere and allow everyone to re-connect with people they’ve met at previous events and allow the ‘Freshman’ class of newcomers to feel welcomed into the Fish ‘N Fest Family. Past events have been held in coastal towns like Carrabelle, FL, Port St. Joe, FL, Fernandina Beach, FL, Apalachicola, FL, Charleston, SC and other great destinations.
WHAT WE DO: First and foremost…We Have Fun! The Fish ‘N Fest agenda is pretty simple, and lots of fun! Thursday night kicks off the weekend with the Welcome Banquet where everyone has a chance to meet each other and the local charter captains we engage (for people who elect not to bring a boat). Two lucky people take home custom made fishing rods from Coach’s Rods and American Tackle Co. Friday and Saturday are the fishing days. Saturday night is the Celebration Banquet where we crown the Inshore and Offshore Kahunas for the event …the biggest inshore and the biggest offshore fish caught.
And some lucky person walks away with a Fish ‘N Fest Free Ride, giving them free admission, free accommodations and free charter fishing for the next Fish ‘N Fest event. These gatherings are all about making new friends, so everyone leaves the event with about 100 new friends, plus memories they will cherish for a lifetime.
