2023 FALL FISH ‘N FEST IS ON!!!

Mark your calendars for the Fall Fish ‘N Fest — October 12 – 15, 2023

This fall, we’re headed to a new destination – Murrells Inlet, the Seafood Capital of South Carolina. And the fall is the perfect time to be there. The weather is pleasant, the summer crowds are thinning down, and the fishing is off the chain. We’ll be fishing the marshes and creeks for flounder, redfish, speckled trout. And as a bonus, king mackerel and monster bull reds will be roaming the nearshore waters just off the beach.

Murrells Inlet is part of what is known as the Grand Strand… 60 miles of beaches and waterfront that stretches from Little River on the north end, down to Georgetown. There’s plenty to do off the water. Each town or village has its own unique flavor… from the rides at the Pavillion Amusement Park and nightlife of Broadway On The Beach just north of Myrtle Beach… to the laid back atmosphere of Pawleys Island and Litchfield Beach to the south. You’ll find great golf. Visit historic Brookgreen Gardens. The Marsh Walk at Murrells Inlet and Boardwalk at Myrtle Beach are popular night spots. And of course, you’ll enjoy some of the best seafood restaurants on the planet.

We have an awesome weekend of Fishing, Food and Fun planned, so sign up now! We have a limited number of slots available, so don’t delay. This will be one of our best Fish ‘N Fests ever!

Nuts & Bolts Fish ‘N Fests are open to everyone. This is not a fishing tournament. Instead, it’s the perfect opportunity to discover a new destination, experience fishing new waters, enjoy great local cuisine and make new friends. If you don’t have a boat, you can elect to fish with one of our charter captains at an affordable price. And our nighttime banquets are just as much fun. Several lucky individuals will walk away with Nuts & Bolts Limited Edition custom fishing rods from Mots Custom Rods, tackle from Project-X Tackle Co., and the opportunity to win a Free Ride to the next Fish ‘N Fest this spring.

It doesn’t matter if you have been fishing since you could walk, or have never held a fishing rod, you’ll have a blast. So register now!

AGENDA: Check-in and Welcome Banquet

The weekend kicks off with Registration on Thursday October 12th at the Brookwood Inn. Come by between 2 – 4pm and pick up your goodie bags, plus you can warm up your casting skills at the Casting Contest.

Thursday night is the Welcome Banquet to re-connect with old friends and meet the new Fish ‘N Fest Freshmen. Two lucky individuals will walk away with custom fishing rods hand-built by Mot’s Custom Rods, and there will be lots of other cool prizes.

We have partnered with Murrells Inlet Fishing Charters to provide charter fishing for our group. Their captains fish these waters every day and know where the fish are and how to catch ’em. Friday and Saturday are fishing days. We will meet at Murrells Inlet Fishing Charters, between Wahoo’s and Drunken Jacks restaurants, to board the charter boats, and have the weigh-in each afternoon.

Friday night you are on your own to explore the cuisine and amenities of Murrells Inlet.

Saturday night is the Celebration Banquet where we crown the Kahuna’s and someone will receive a Free Ride to the next Fish ‘N Fest this fall.

FISHING OPPORTUNITIES:

Murrells Inlet is a pure saltwater tidal marsh system. No freshwater rivers feed the creeks. Inshore, there are redfish, trout, jacks, flounder, mackerel and more. A short ride to the inlet and beach will have you wrestling with king mackerel, bull redfish, sharks and more. Offshore fishing is a 30 to 50 mile ride, so our charter boats will be focusing on inshore and nearshore fishing.

We have assembled an awesome group of charter guides for attendees who don’t have a boat, or prefer not to bring a boat. Murrells Inlet Fishing Charters is our go-to resource for inshore charter boats. Each bay boat will accommodate four anglers, and will be fishing inshore and nearshore, depending on what’s biting and the anglers on-board. If you are fishing on a charter boat, tackle, bait and licenses are included in the fees.

Each fishing day will start around 7:30am, and have you back at the docks around 2:00pm. To keep costs reasonable, we put 4 people on a boat, so you may be fishing with new friends. At the payment portal you can elect to reserve an entire boat and just have your party of two, three or four on the boat. This is a Rain or Shine event. If it’s raining…we fish. If there are storms or high winds nearby, then we delay the start to allow the weather to pass over.

If you are bringing your own boat, our charter captains will provide contemporary intel on what’s biting and where so you can maximize your time on the water.

There are a limited number of charter boats available, and once all the slots are taken, we will close the charter boat portal.

When you check in on Thursday, you can sign up for the Grand Strand Fishing Rodeo, and potentially win a trip to Costa Rica or an African Safari, or lots of other really cool prizes.

The Brookwood Inn will be our headquarters off-the-water. This iconic property in Murrells Inlet has both hotel rooms and cottage rooms, many with private porches and kitchens. Just a short drive from the heart of Murrells Inlet, the Brookwood Inn has been a landmark since its grand opening on New Year’s Day 1950. New owners Julie and Rob Perez, have renovated the property with lots of labor & love to bring her back to glory, with more amenities while still maintaining its nostalgic reflection of simpler times. Massive moss draped live oaks, magnolia trees, camellias and azaleas offer guests a very unique setting to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility that Murrells Inlet is famous for. We have a room block here, and it will go fast. To book your reservation call the front desk at 843.651.2550 and let them know you are with the Fish ‘N Fest event to get the discounted rates. And there is an abundance of VRBO’s in the area as well.
