HOTEL & FISHING

Hotel Options:

There are an abundance of overnight options in St. Augustine. Hotels nearby include Southern Oaks Inn, about 3 miles from the marina…the Magic Beach Motel, just across the bridge from the marina on Vilano Beach…the Hyatt Place St. Augustine, also just across the bridge.

FISHING: June is when the migration of king mackerel is in full swing off St. Augustine. It’s a short boat ride to the natural live bottom that runs parallel to the beach. Kings, cobia, sailfish, bonita, Spanish mackerel and other predators cruise the reef to feed on baitfish as they migrate northward. The key to catching is slow trolling live and artificial baits along the reef and live bottom areas. A little further offshore, you can wrestle with amberjack and mangrove snapper, If the sea conditions or weather makes getting offshore difficult, the inshore fishing is spectacular. The river and creeks are home to a variety of inshore species from speckled trout to redfish to flounder. And, if the seasonal conditions are right, you may get the opportunity to do battle with a bruiser bull redfish.

No boat??? No problem.

We enlist the expertise of local charter captains to take you on an exciting fishing adventure. We’ll coordinate the guide boats so you can just show up and fish. Register for Charter Fishing here.
